The spring
The old house sits above a thermal spring the island's healers knew about long before the road was cut. We lined the basins in travertine. Otherwise we left the rock as we found it.

— The long bathAn unhurried circuit of the three thermal basins — hot, tepid, cold — with rest between. Cold hibiscus and salt almonds on the marble bench. Begins and ends with a quiet foot ritual.

— Full-body ritualA slow body treatment with island herbs pounded into a warm oil. Finished with a scrub of local sea salt and the dried petals of the flame tree in the courtyard.

— Bath & bodyThe thermal bath, followed by a 90-minute full-body treatment, followed by a pot of palo santo tea and a plate of fruit in the orchid room. The long afternoon.
